Staff Roles
Case Managers
The case managers are responsible for implementing the IEP goals and objectives on a daily basis. They also help coordinate services as listed on the IEP. Case managers are liaisons for families as they work with other members of the transition team and adult service providers in the community.
Instructional Assistant
Instructional Assistants work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and adult service and community agencies to assist in all aspects of the daily instruction in the areas of employment, education, training, and independent living skills for students within the GBO and community settings. The GBO IA supports students’ vocational goals under the direction of the Vocational Coordinator, Vocational Teacher, and/or Case Manager.
Transition Coordinator
The transition coordinator works with families to explore options for post-high school. They help families access services they may need or be interested in post-high school. This professional works closely with the case managers to ensure each student and family is informed of the transition services available.
Vocational Specialist
This professional works with DRS to coordinate vocational training sites in the community for students enrolled at GBO. The vocational staff monitors on-the-job progress, communicating with job coaches, instructional assistants, and employers. They also work with students and case managers to identify student interests and skills, leading to positive outcomes for post-secondary goals.
